Patterns

"Patterns" is an ongoing research on the lifespan of textile trends, ornaments and patterns. Also about memory and nostalgia. Combining together well known motifs with everyday life cliché's, each rug is a unique eccentric composition. Camouflage patterns, zebra skin, post-interenet elf aesthetics, car roads from children carpets, old stories from tapestries, instagram based trends, simplified historical ornaments, most copied knock-offs from mass production– these visual tales capture the essence of today and preserve political, historical and identity based discourses.
